Omron’s new 1S AC Servo is developed to give machine designers complete control and management from a single environment based on state-of-the-art servo technology. With increasing demands for high quality production, the Omron 1S AC Servo System meets machine requirements, offering optimised set-up and installation while enhancing machine design and productivity. Available worldwide and complying with global safety standards, it offers both networked and hardwired safe torque off (STO) built-in to deliver efficient operation.
As safety plays a significant factor in many industries, safety design and installation have been simplified through Functional Safety over EtherCat (FSoE). Machine speed and accuracy is improved through 125 μs system cycle and 23-bit high resolution absolute encoder for accurate position input and retention of position during power loss. The new servo has an advanced tuning function which reduces settling time and, in return, allows the servo to run smoother. Various ranges are available with ratings ranging from 230 VAC single-phase (100 W to 1.5 kW) and 400 VAC three-phase (600 W to 3 kW).
The 1S AC Servo System also eliminates up to 20 percent of labour and hardware costs by not requiring external parts such as cables for safety and controller, terminal block for I/O, brake relay and battery. It utilises Push-In Plus terminals to replace the external I/O terminal, thus reducing wiring and maintenance work and contributing to more efficient operation. The compact design improves air circulation inside the cabinet and, because the height of the drive is uniform and throughout the compact range, set-up time can be reduced by 50 percent.
