Clients and potential clients can learn more about Omron’s cutting edge automation technology with technical advice from its team of experts.

Omron conducted its final breakfast seminar for 2014 at its headquarters in Silverwater, Sydney, in December.

More than 30 clients attended the event, which featured Omron’s Delta-3 Robot and latest vision sensor technology.

Omron Engineering Manager Harry Mulder demonstrated the pick and place capabilities of the Delta-3 Robot and how it can benefit a broad range of industry sectors.

The Delta solution can achieve up to 200 cycles per minute and can control up to eight robots by one controller.

There are three types of Delta robot arms available as Washdown, Delta and Mini Delta robot, with a model range from 450 to 1300mm.

More accurate than the human eye

Mr George Nematian, Product Manager – Advanced Sensors, gave visitors a preview of the Omron FQ vision sensor, a fully automated product inspection system.

The Omron FQ Vision Sensor provides the very best in image quality and clarity base on 16.7 million colours.

They are more accurate than the human eye and can be used in a wide variety of industry sectors, including food & beverage and pharmaceutical.

The Omron FQ-M vision sensor is designed specifically for motion applications and is able to detect the position of several pieces moving on a conveyor at very high speeds, increasing the overall throughput of the machine. Safety is also integrated with Omron’s NX Safety by using FailSafe over EtherCAT (FsoE) protocol. Omron's new NA HMI completes the solution.

All the components, safety, robotics, vision, & HMI are programmed via single programming software – Sysmac Studio. Never before has there been a solution that integrates machine control, vision, HMI, safety, and robotics using one programming software with one connection.
