OMRON has long been a major technology partner.

“We’ve had an association with OMRON for many years,” says Downey Engineering managing director Ross Leamon. “OMRON is a preferred supplier of motion control products including PLCs, HMIs and servos,” he says.

“It has a broad offering, especially in machine automation, vision and robotics. “And OMRON products provide a good strong platform which can be easily integrated into other platforms. “That’s probably one of their biggest strengths.”

New agreement to further strengthen the association

Downey Engineering recently strengthened its relationship with OMRON after joining the official Accredited System Integrator (ASI) program.

Under the program, OMRON partners with approved system integration companies that install Omron Electronics’ products into end users’ facilities and OEMs Machinery.

“This agreement will be of great benefit to both our companies,” says Mr Leamon. “Under the agreement we will receive more technical support and hands-on training. “That will be of great assistance to our engineering team.

“Our philosophy is to always leave our clients with a fully documented, easy to maintain system – and they can expect to receive even greater support under this agreement.”

Mr Paul Gibb, state manager of OMRON QLD, welcomed Downey Engineering to the ASI Program.

“We’ve enjoyed a strong relationship with Ross and his team for several years and we look forward to continuing that successful association,” Mr Gibb said. “Under ASI program Downey Engineering clients can expect to receive even greater support and service.”
