How to send an Explicit Message from Network Configurator to find Firmware Revision of multiple distributed 3G3AX-MX2-EIP and any other EIP device

Introduction

The purpose of this document is to find the firmware revision of 3G3MX2 EIP Option Board through an explicit message using the devices Object dictionary. Whilst this can be found through the web browser interface, this principal can be applied to all other EIP Devices.

Applies to the following configuration as an example:


Ethernet/IP devices have the following object models which can be accessed implicitly and explicitly.


For this specific use case, the identity object, Class 01, Instance 01, Attribute 65 will provide the revision of the EIP device.

When connected to the network, select Tools -> Setup Parameters.

Enter following parameters as per Identity Object:
