OMRON USB device drivers

Updated January 31, 2022

Windows uses a Device Driver to communicate with USB devices. Many OMRON PLCs use USB as a communication method. In order to communicate, Windows requires that the Device Driver be installed. This is done in the Device Manager. Access this by typing Device Manager in the Windows 10 search bar.

If a device is not installed properly, you may find an exclamation mark (!) next to a device in the Device Manager. To install a device driver try this;

  1. Right click on the device in Device Manager and select Update Driver.
  2. Choose the Browse My Computer for Drivers option
  3. Click Browse and browse to this directory C:\Program Files (x86)\OMRON\Drivers\USB
  4. Click OK and on Update Drivers screen, make sure to tick the option to include sub folders.
  5. Click Next.

Note sometimes a driver needs to be installed twice in order to eliminate the exclamation mark in Device Manager. Perform the above a second time if this is the case.

If the device that you are installing is not listed in the folders in the C:\Program Files (x86)\OMRON\Drivers\USB  folder, try this link for more OMRON drivers. Note you will need to sign up with OMRON Europe to access this device driver resource.
