Successful association
As part of the agreement, Omron will provide special training courses for JH Tester team members and consultation services on selected projects.
Omron Oceania sales executive Darren Anderson says the agreement is a “win-win” for both companies – and also for end-users.
“Omron has had a successful association with JH Tester since 1994,” says Mr Anderson.
“At that time, its founder John Tester, a former aircraft engineer, was running the business from a workshop in the garage of his family home, servicing mainly the textile industry.”
The business has since grown rapidly and now employs 22 staff at two major purpose-built facilities at Prestons in western Sydney.
And John’s son Murray, a highly qualified electrical engineer, is now at the company helm.
JH Tester currently provides services to a broad range of industries including:
Scientific – R & D
Packaging
Petro Chemical
Building & Construction
Mining & Resources
Water
Materials Handling
Food & Beverage
Printing
Textile
The company specialises in state-of-the-art purpose-built confectionery machines which are exported across the globe. Omron has proudly supplied its renowned FH vision systems for JH Tester on two recent major F&B projects.
“Under the new agreement we hope to expand our offering to include the Omron range of mobile robots,” says Mr Anderson.
“That includes the LD90 and LD250 series as well as the new HD-1500 which can handle payloads of up to 1,500kg.
“And down the track we hope to incorporate our TM range of collaborative robots.
“We look forward to a long and rewarding partnership.”
